The London Blitz was when London and other surrounding cities were attacked by a major bombing done by the Germans from September 1940 through May 1941. Theytargeted very populated areas and factories. On September 7, 1940, Germany began to bomb London. This went on for 57 nights straight. During these nights of brutal bombings, the people of London would try to take shelter in basements or subway stations. This caused for them to be creative when dealing with sleeping conditions and sanitation facilities.
Dresden Bombing was in four raids between the 13th and 15th of February 1945. 1,200 heavy bombers dropped more than 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs on the city by the Allies. This bombing is known as one of the most destructive bombings of the entire war. Bombing Dresden was actually not very good because Germany was already about to surrender.
Tokyo Bombing was on March 9, 1945. The United States firebombed Tokyo, Japan. This attack was very strategic and planned out. It is recorded as the worst firestorm in history. The United States stripped their planes of all guns so they could load more bombs into them. This made it so that each plan was carrying about seven tons of explosives. The American pilots had to be careful because if they were shot down they did not want to land in enemy territory.
Berlin Bombing was on March 4, 1944. The United States Air Force attacked Berlin. Fourteen U.S. bombers went to Berlin and only one plane bombed their. The other thirteen planes either dropped bombs in other places or they were lost because of the Germans. The loss of the the thirteen planes made this unsuccessful.
